Default What do you think how this game should be played?

These are the general questions that should be asked:
1. True or False? There is no best set of skills its has to do with how you use them.
2. Short answer. How should you get information about Guild Wars regarding with skills, quests and such?
3. Short answer. If you are stuck on a quest, what are some options.
4. Short answer. How do you use pvxwiki to find good builds.

I am doing this to help the newcomers. Feel free to answer these questions.

1. true and false - while there is no 1 best...theres only bout 10 or so in the top tier list out of a possible 1,000,000+ different build combinations

2. game itself, other ppl, gwwiki
while there may be a "best" option...why limit ur possibliities? use all u can get

3. kind of the same question as #2 but i guess more specific
f10 or /help, ask a friend/guildie

4. not sure wut u mean?

1. Theres a few good builds for each profession. The question makes it sound like you can make a crap build not crap by playing it well enough. Good builds > Bad builds.
2. Forums/Wiki
3. Use common sense (i.e, adapt builds to slot key skills for certain areas), Forums/Wiki
4. I don't use PvX.

False. While there is no single best set of skills, there is a very small set of good skills among a large collection of skills that range from bad to really awful. No amount of good playstyle can make up for poor skill choices. You need to start with a build constructed out of good skills, and then you have to play it well.

For basic information, go to the wiki. For deeper understanding of skills and builds, I hate to say that, not only do you have to come to Guru, but also you have to figure out who knows what they're talking about, and who's an idiot.

3. Short answer. If you are stuck on a quest, what are some options.
1. Check with guildies/alliance-mates/friends online and see if they know how to do it.
2. Check wiki.
3. Post a question in the appropriate section of Guru.

You don't. Pvxwiki is filled with bad builds, needlessly inferior variants of good builds, and a bunch of idiot vetters. That said, it does have a couple of uses. First, the farm builds tend to to be fairly reliable. Second, even if every other aspect of a build is wrong (and they usually are), you can still extract the key synergies from a wiki build and then create a better build using those synergies.

1. About 20 or so skillbars that rise far above all others.
2. Friends/Guildies/GWG/Wiki
3. Same as above
4. I only use it after skill updates to see people ideas for new builds. Otherwise i just watch the meta stuff and use that.

1. False. Depending on the situation there are definetly "best" builds that you can use. (You don't NEED the best, but using it is advised)

2. just type /wiki (subject media) in game. it'll redirect you.

3. see above.

4. I don't. I make my own builds. the majority of the population is stupid. builds made by majority vote, is not something I want. PvXwiki is a breeding ground for mediocre, acceptable builds.

1. False, only small number of builds are any good, and in my opinion, it does not take a long time to "master a class" or "master a build."

2. First hand experience is the best experience. If you haven't already, try your experiments out and see the results. Join a guild and ask for their opinions and advice. Wikis can't tell you what to do as they only give information.

3. In this case, wikis should be able to help you with no problem. Most quests and missions should be viewable via wiki.

4.Though Pvx does have some good builds, a lot of the builds I see are rated poorly while others, in my opinion, don't live up to their standards. They do, however, offer insight on skill synergy.

1. True or False? There is no best set of skills its has to do with how you use them. - True. That doesn't give an excuse for some skills/builds though, because some things are just clearly inferior to better skills/builds.

2. Short answer. How should you get information about Guild Wars regarding with skills, quests and such? - First time through, play the game and figure it out your own damn self. When doing repeat playthroughs and new characters after that, consult the two wikis. If those don't help, you're using the wikis wrong, or you're dumb. Do not ask your guild/alliance.

3. Short answer. If you are stuck on a quest, what are some options? - If stuck in terms of not knowing what to do, see #2. If stuck in terms of not being able or not seeing yourself able, ask your guild, then your alliance. If they don't help you, quit and find a new guild. PuGs are not advised, but they will sometimes do the job fine.

4. Short answer. How do you use pvxwiki to find good builds? - Click on "Great" builds. Pick one. Test it. If you don't like it, use a different one. Can't find one in the "Great" section? Go to "All". Rinse and repeat. When you find one you like, decide if you want to make modifications to it. Test them. When you've picked your build and tested it yourself, then it's ready to be used for serious work.

1. True or False? There is no best set of skills its has to do with how you use them.
Neither.
For each and every situation there is a best set of skills.
However, this situation depends on both the team setup (which is also part of the best set of skills), the environment and the opponents.
A good set of skills played by inexperienced players could kill the team.
So yes, there is a best set of skills but it's not a generic set and also depends on the people playing them.

2. Short answer. How should you get information about Guild Wars regarding with skills, quests and such?

In general, read everything the game says. If that's not enouhg consult wiki or fansite. Ingame resources should be enough for starters.

3. Short answer. If you are stuck on a quest, what are some options.

Look for exclamation marks! Read descriptions, follow pointers.
If all fails, ask others in the game. If that fails, use wiki.

4. Short answer. How do you use pvxwiki to find good builds.
There are good builds on pvxwiki?
I'd say skip the site and try making your own builds while learning what works and what doesn't. You might invent builds that are close or similar to pvxwiki builds but most probably you've learned a lot about how and why they work.
